Why in Windows Seven Build 7100 Restart every so often

Hi, i recently downloaded the free windows RC version buld 7100 from the windows website...

I would normally leave my laptop on all the time and every morning when i go to check for emails and news etc. i would have to log on (i normally just leave my laptop locked) and i would find my applications have all shutdown and a error message comes up saying an error and occured and has been solved.. please send to windows for a solution... and this happens all the time... at first i thought it would only happen once and today it happened exactly at 1.00pm as it restart right in front of me...

I looked on the Microsoft Website and it stated that in March 2010, they will start shutting down every two hours... so i dont know what is going on...

i wonder does this happen to anyone else or is their a fault in my system or is there a software which will help my situation??

You aren't still on the beta, you are in fact running RC 7100? (just to clarify)

Is it 1pm everyday?
Does it do a clean shutdown? Or does it just power off like when holding down the button or pulling the plug?

Do you have anything odd in your task scheduler?
Hit start>type task choose task scheduler then click on task scheduler library.

Yes its the RC 7100, is not 1pm everyday its just every so often, i tried the task scheduler and nothing weird came up... its not a shutdown it restarts the laptop....

Check the event log to see if it is in fact crashing. Start button, type event viewer and check the windows logs/System. Or the reliability and performance monitor then the reliability monitor.

Best advice right there. Chances are this isn't Windows 7's fault, but some odd driver, application, or piece of hardware misbehaving. Not all hardware works 100% right now with Windows 7, but the compatibility scope is much, much wider than Vista was on release.

can you highlight the few before it or export to text? The ones referring to the power?

Check to see if you have a crash dump. Check your settings first (See below). Then zip and upload to somewhere like rapidshare then we can have a look to see if it gives a driver name or other clues to the crash.

I found what it was.. my virus defender AVG was conflicting with the system during the scanning process at 12.30am... i disabled the scanning schedule and enabled again. i then scanned the system and everything seems alrite Thanks anyway

glad it's fixed, enjoy Windows 7.
