    Shut Down Issues

    Afternoon all!

Having spent some time scanning other peoples issues, I am yet to resolve an issue with shutting down:

I have recently installed Win7 v6.1.7100, and since the install, my laptop has been randomly turning itself off. This could be after 1, 5 or even 12 hours - there appears to be no pattern occuring though.

I have identified no hardware/software conflicts, and there is no CPU overheating/fans blocked etc.

Has anyone experienced the same issue, bespoke with this version of Windows (I had Vista Ultimate before, no problems with that)?

This is getting rather irritating now! hehe

    Thanks

just out of curiosity, have you looked in the event log to see what the last few things that happened on your machine before the shut down? It will be easy to find, because you will see the couple hour gap between when it was on, and when you powered it back on. It's a good place to start.

If you cannot find anything in the Event Log, try grabbing a newer leaked build. Might just be a bug.

    yes thank you

yes i am glad to hear someone else is having this problem as well. I installed the 16385 version last night and am having the problem of coming back hours later and my computer just being shut off. I have not been able to actually see it shutting down but mysteriously does it when i am not around. I am afraid to say the RTM maybe should not of been signed off so soon. If there r any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. thank you

AFAIK, W7 default power management puts the computer in hibernation mode like after 1 hour of inactivity (maybe 30 mins)
