    Help Please!!! Unable to install anything downloaded

    Hi, I have Windows XP on my computer and just recently decided to upgrade to Windows 7, and so i did. Did a full clean install and reformatted all partitions before installing, of course saving my data first, well the important stuff anyway. But here is my problem, first things first I installed my Wireless USB drivers from disc then updated but i noticed some updates failing as in 5 failed first go and so on, just the basics first. But then I first opened IE and downloaded firefox and it downloaded fine but then told me that Windows found a problem, so I went into the options and turned on the option to run it anyway even if it couldnt get a signature. So it found no problems but then it just didnt install, the setup just didnt open at all. Looked in task manager and it seemed that nothing even appeared. So i got it from another computer and installed firefox from my pen drive and it worked perfectly. Then i got firefox and it had the same problem, the setup just would not open, but this time it was iTunes. Anyone got any ideas on what it could be?

    Kind Regards, Jordan

    Did you do your install from a genuine Microsoft DVD or a copy you obtained? This sounds like a failed to install correctly problem either your system or the wireless drivers..

    yeah genuine, I forgot to mention this isn't the first time either. Last time I tried and it did the same thing but I got refunded and then this time the same thing happened. At least XP works still, if I can't figure it out, I will have to go back to that again and everything worked on XP too, even after I went back to it from last time so I don't think its the drivers, but I have no idea what it is

    It seems the downloaded file is getting corrupt. How are you downloading?

    Well I started with IE just the normal downloading process, then firefox normal downloader and then firefox add-on called DownThemAll which is an accelerator, and still the same result, firefox just not opening the setup, the signatures for all the files downloaded were invalid or not there if that makes a difference, even after downloading from the official site.

    Seems to be a certificate issue. Start -> Run -> inetcpl.cpl -> Enter
    Advanced tab -> Reset
    Wait for everything to finish, close IE, re-open and download a file and check.

    I must admit, that it is quite weird but it worked, thanks heaps, I am checking if it is just IE working or both IE and firefox are working but if it doesn't, is there anything like that but for firefox?
