Windows 7: Banging head

Hi, I really hope someone can help me. My brother got me a laptop for my birthday and allowed my mother to set a password on it so my children could not get on to it. The problem is she cant remember what she put as the password
Problem is that i am 100+ miles away from them and am pretty useless at this sort of thing! Is there anyway i can bypass the initial windows password as my brother said there isnt one in the admin settings (which doesnt show on homepage)

ANy ideas/help would be greatfully appreciated

There are numerous ways to circumvent passwords...none of which I prefer to share because we do not know the true ownership of the computer, etc. However, what you work out while talking to Google is completely up to you.

Yes, strange for who is parent and who is child...

Why in the world didn`t she write it down or use something easily remembered, why in the world would you even let your children touch your laptop ?

I know I`m not helping much here. Like someone said Google it.

Well, i can see that this was a complete waste of time, the only sensible and polite reply was from MacGyvr (can fully understand his point). As for all the other replies - i presumed that this was a site where people gave advice not just a general insult forum.

I am sorry if you took the answers as insults - which they were not really intended to be. You have to understand that we are not eager to help people to break into other peoples systems. We frequently get those requests for bypassing a password - but what do we know about the validity of the request. That is the reason why we are careful with this matter.

I am sure if you you come back one day with a less sensitive technical problem, you will get excellent answers.

Whilst the replies given were in no way intended to question your integrity I'm sure you can understand why people are somewhat reticent in answering a query such as yours on this occasion.

I too am sorry if you misunderstood the manner of the replies, but generally speaking, people on WSF give of their time freely in an effort to help people who are struggling with an issue.
