I guess I was hoping to hear that those who pre-ordered choosing the download method from the MS Store might catch a break and get to download Win7 before the GA date.

Anyone think there's a chance of that happening?

I really doubt it as the download the DVD release usually go out at the same time.

All languages are never ready at RTM i don't see why you would expect it now, especially since the dates for other languages was posted before. As a matter of fact windows 7 has the shortest time frame between release and when the other languages are available.

^ yes you are right, however I thought I read somewhere that they claimed that for Microsoft to go RTM, all the major languagues would be ready, that's all.

I bet that MS servers are going to get another beating on August 6th, I probably going to wait until october 1st now, as I am not interested in en-us.

    Edit:

Windows 7 will be available in many languages from around the world. For us to consider RTM “done”, it requires that all languages be completely finished. So there is a lot of work that needs to take place for us to finalize all languages of Windows 7.

This from the same Windows 7 blog (the Microsoft one, by the same author), so that's why I wonder why they don't up other languages on technet/msdn on august 6. Well, too bad I guess.

Thanks for summarizing the article. RTM has been completed and now they are getting it ready for all of us. My TechNet account will be very useful because on Aug 6th I can get my keys for my current installation of 16385. :)
What are you folks going to do if it turns out to NOT be 16385? Is it possible to HEAR screaming over the internet WITHOUT the aid of a computer? I think a 1638X RTM version might test that theory.

Anyway, we will know soon enough.

Honestly...? Do we have to start spreading the FUD all over again.

They wouldn't announce dates 2 weeks away, if they were going to recompile a new build, send it out to Worldwide Partners, and Internal testers... to be tested... then voted on yet again..

It's not going to happen. Please everyone stop this..

Well, if Microsoft keeps it's word, then the RTM will be announced THURSDAY at the latest. They said that it will be on TechNet/MSDN a few weeks after we announce RTM, and they said that will be 6 August. A few weeks can be 2 weeks at the minimum, so it has to happen 6 August minus 2 weeks = thursday 23 July.

they also previously stated that msdn and technet would have the RTM on the 24th of july and look what happened to that.
