    Black Screen at Startup

I installed windows 7 a few days ago, everything seemed to run fine until this morning.. Last night i updated windows because some updates where finished, during shutdown the update was installed. This morning i turn on my computer, it beeps once(loud beep not a soft beep) The screen doesnt flicker and goes into sleep mode. I tried disconnecting the videocard and reconnecting the wires, still doesnt work. I pressed F2, F8, F12, doesnt go to BIOS screen or Boot. I have no idea how to get the connection back. Has anyone has this problem and can help me find a solution.

    thank you

It sounds like possibly a problem with the RAM. If you have multiple DIMMs try taking all but one out and see if your computer will boot, and try different slots. Try with different DIMMs until it boots.

It sounds like you have some hardware issues, since it will not boot and you cannot get in to BIOS. The best thing to try is disconnect all peripherals and start with he bare minimum, CPU, RAM, Video Card....Since you sound confortable opening the PC, take all but 1 stick of RAM out. If it doesn't boot, swap in 1 other stick of RAM. Let start here, then if you it goes well we can add more hardware piece by piece. Clearning the CMOS may be a good idea too.
