Not sure if you need this since you have Starter, but you might want to try this as well in case starter was put on the system for low system requirements: Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor - Download - Microsoft Windows | My System Specs | | Computer type Laptop System Manufacturer/Model Number ASUS G60-RBBX05 OS Win7 Home Premium 64x CPU Intel Core 2 Duo P7450 / 2.13 GHz (2.29 with Extreme Turbo) Memory 4 GB PC-6400 Hyundai (2X2) at 800Mhz Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M 1GB DDR3 VRAM Monitor(s) Displays 16" LED Backlit Screen Resolution 1366 x 768 on laptop 1600x1050 max res on 22" external mon Keyboard Chicklet type back-lit (white light) keyboard Mouse Logitech G9 Laser Mouse 3200dpi and 1000 reports per minute PSU 6-cell Lithium ion { lasts 1.5 hours } Case ASUS G60 Laptop Hard Drives OCZ Agility 3 60GB SSD / 320 GB - Serial ATA-150 - 7200 rpm Internet Speed Comcast 8.60mb/s up - 3.11mb/s down Antivirus MSE Browser Firefox Other Info General mid-budget gaming Comp. Hi Jo, from what I see in your specs, it may be possible to upgrade to Windows 7 Home. Your expereince may be lackluster though. In my honest opinion I think you'd be making a mistake trying to upgrade your netbook.
Whilst what you've got is fine for e-mailing and surfing the Internet, it's low RAM and graphics would prevent or slow down tasks such as photo and video editing.
By all means, run the Windows Ugrade Advisor, but I think you're better off to save up and buy a performance laptop rather than upgrade your netbook. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Pavilion Elite 495UK OS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-Bit CPU Intel Core i7 870 @ 2.93GHz Motherboard MSI 2A9C (CPU1) Memory 8Gb Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 664MHz Graphics Card nVidia GeForce GTX 460 1024MB dedicated RAM Sound Card Realtek HD Audio Monitor(s) Displays HP2310i Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 Keyboard Logitech K750 solar-powered keyboard Mouse Logitech Wireless M180 mouse PSU 460W Case HP Elite Cooling Air cooled Hard Drives 1x1954GB Hitachi HDS22020ALA 330 (RAID), 1x1954GB Hitachi External for backup and storage Internet Speed 2Mb Other Info Pure Avanti Flow Internet Radio with iPod Dock, 64Gb iPod, HP USB Speakers, Sony MDR-V500 Headphones, Sony Vaio F-Series Laptop |

This might not be of any use to you, but I suggest installing Ubuntu or Linux Mint onto your netbook. It would run much faster than with Windows 7. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Pavilion dv6-2020ev OS Ubuntu 12.10 CPU Intel Core i7 720QM Motherboard Its a HP secret... I agree with you Slash that it would be faster for the netbook than Windows 7, but it has a bit of a learning curve if youve never seen Linux systems.
Edit: not to say its not possible, just would need a bit of resources on how to navigate Ubuntu or Mint | My System Specs | | Computer type Laptop System Manufacturer/Model Number ASUS G60-RBBX05 OS Win7 Home Premium 64x CPU Intel Core 2 Duo P7450 / 2.13 GHz (2.29 with Extreme Turbo) Memory 4 GB PC-6400 Hyundai (2X2) at 800Mhz Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M 1GB DDR3 VRAM Monitor(s) Displays 16" LED Backlit Screen Resolution 1366 x 768 on laptop 1600x1050 max res on 22" external mon Keyboard Chicklet type back-lit (white light) keyboard Mouse Logitech G9 Laser Mouse 3200dpi and 1000 reports per minute PSU 6-cell Lithium ion { lasts 1.5 hours } Case ASUS G60 Laptop Hard Drives OCZ Agility 3 60GB SSD / 320 GB - Serial ATA-150 - 7200 rpm Internet Speed Comcast 8.60mb/s up - 3.11mb/s down Antivirus MSE Browser Firefox Other Info General mid-budget gaming Comp.
