    Welcome, conway220 :).

It's possible. it depends on if you need the additional features, but if you have to ask, I'd say no, it's not worth it. It's likely that you wouldn't need the additional features of Ultimate or Professional. Here's a feature comparison chart, so that you can make an informed decision:

    Compare Windows - Microsoft Windows

also a link to where i could get it would be nice

You could also do an 'Anytime Upgrade' from within Windows.

I have had that in mind too, and I believe its not worth it, as you can see from the comparison table at Microsoft you will not get a better platform.

The TV part? You mean that part that is also in Home Premium?
The only thing Ultimate has over Home Premium is additional Network features and IT stuff.

The one in Ultimate is the exact same thing that is in Home Premium. They are EXACTLY the same. So one cannot be better then the other.

It's exactly the same. The only differences (to a home user) could potentially be using boot from VHD, inbound remote desktop, and perhaps the free license for an XP Mode virtual machine. I can't imagine though what else a home user would actually need in Ultimate that isn't in Home Premium, and the things I list above really aren't all that necessary to the vast majority of home users (and that's kind of the point, really).
