    Disappointed, satisfied? Thoughts about RTM...

Now that most of you are running the 7600.16385 (RTM), what are your thoughts on what is basically the finished version of Windows 7.
After the past 6 months or more of progressing builds on the new OS, are you satisfied with the final product?
    Are you disappointed?
Was there anything not in the final product that you had hoped for?

Over all Im pleased with it. It just feels much better/smoother than Vista. Im not as excited as I once was, but that is mostly due to being exposed to Win 7 for about 6 months now. Though part of me still thinks there could have been more done with Win 7. Like perhaps, it didnt take a further enough step forward in its advancements over its predecessor. I think I was also hoping for something really, really new to the OS realm.
Like I said though, i am pleased with this OS overall. I think Windows 7 will be around for quite some time and will be well received.

I am quite happy with it although I found a few less drivers are now around. Specifically certain graphics drivers. It will probably be sorted eventually. It was just strange that suddenly the 'rtm' did not install the correct driver as the RC did.

I would have to say that i'm extremely satisfied and if indeed this is the final RTM then MS get

There has clearly been a lot of progress since the BETA builds & even the RC builds. It's the best running build i've so far installed on my laptop. The only drivers i've had to install is the Intel GMA so I can get better control when I output to my 43" TV.

    I'm Happy :)

    Heya,

    I'm mostly happy,

A new startup sound would have finished it for me...

Have followe'd MS beta's from Windows 95 and I have to admit... well done..

It is a solid job... Vista wasn't as bad as everyone said... it was MS's gowring pains... without it.. we wouldn't all be smiling, and downloading build after build of 7 :)

    smiles up

I'm having hard time when I boot my PC: Ubuntu or W7, W7 or Ubuntu

    Windows 7 rocks!

Love linux for all the free apps though.

IM not 100% happy I have noticed alot more problems (little things) since running 16385. x64 that I didnt have on 7264 x64.

Alot of the time when I try to do normal little things the system either goes into a extended time out or locks up. Tried renaming the D: drive from MEDIA to Data and it locked up the entire system.

Tried to reboot the system and after entering my user password endless logging on sessions. Iv'e done 5 installs and all of them have some issues. NONE of these happened with 7264 for me!

Be it drviers or something else Im not sure but Im worried because Im a MAC user as well and i've never had 1 of these problems with OSX Leopard..

Im hoping I can get it worked out because with it's stability issues im having now im not going to put my sensitive data on it..

The same thing happened with Vista. Sadly, it was never FIXED with Vista, and fully 75% of the laptops on store shelves remained Vista-driver-less for their video. And do to this day.

Discovered the same trend in Vista testing. The early versions, up through the betas, supported Aero for my chipset (Intel 915GM) even though a hack was required. But when RTM and the final came out, that support was gone. At least with Seven, Aero has NEVER worked (for me), so they haven't taken away a working feature.
