    Where's the UPS Applet?

I don't seem to be able to find the old UPS Service applet that came in Win XP etc. i'm running Win7 X64 Ultimate. I've got an old APC 1100 with new batteries and yes it uses a serial port, not usb. I contacted APC and they said I had to use the client in their business version of PowerChute Plus. Tried that, but couldn't successfully log into the web interface. I assume I only need simple signalling to call an orderly shutdown, As I did with XP. I really don't want to dump this UPS as I have fresh batteries in it and a spare pair sitting beside it. Too much money wrapped up to throw out.
So, can anyone point me to the native UPS applet or help me get the APC PowerChute client working?

I'd try a serial to usb adapter for the plug. WTF it might fool it.

Sooo, if there is no native UPS applet in Win 7, How will this help me? Or, If I can't even log into the Web interface for the Powerchute software, how will a hardware adapter get me any closer?
