Microsoft Essentials and non genuine Windows 7

I have a non genuine copy of windows 7 on my laptop. As a result my microsoft essentials appears not to have updated and my computer may be in threat. Should I do the right thing and buy an official version of Windows 7 or can i trick microsoft essentials into working properly as before?

Get a grip. You need strangers you've never met to tell you whether you should do the right thing or not?

As for MSE, no it cant be tricked into working properly on a non genuine system.

Thanks - I thought that was the response I would get. The software was put on my machine by someone else. So I will do the right thing and buy the legit software.

Don't get me wrong..i'm far from a microsoft lover. However this website doesn't need the grief MS is known to bring down.
Besides..bill WAS right..everybody needed to be on the same OS for PC's to take off. grrr....
