windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

It seems that whichever way I go I end up with a BSOD.

So I think I will call it a day on this one.

OK, that's your choice.

Sorry you didn't get the outcome you wanted, but thanks for letting us know anyway.

If you try again later, get yourself a second internal drive and put XP on that after disconnecting your Win 7 drive first.

Reconnect the Win 7 drive when you're done and you should be good to go.

Yes I have been looking for a cheap internal drive and found one on ebay (80gig) for £15 so will probably go down that road.

You're very welcome.

If you do encounter problems along the way, just create a new thread as this one has been recorded as solved so you'll get little if any further response from it.

Security Query: Dual Boot with two separate drives vs partition
Hi. I have read that using a computer specifically for financial transactions with known and trusted entities (such as a bank) is a good way to reduce (though not eliminate) the risk of your accounts being hacked by reducing the likelihood of inadvertently installing a malware, spyware, or virus...

Not sure if this is the right place or if this is a stupid question, but I want to be sure before running anything. First I'll explain what I have been up to. I've been having some trouble shrinking my volume to create a new partition capable of duel booting XP, at first the volume allowed 20gb...
The 100mb (or was it gb) boot partition - query
Hi, Just read a tutorial on here about optimising hdd performance in w7. It talks about doing a disk wipe and then creating a boot partition using diskpart so you don't end up with the 'dreaded' 100mb (or was it gb) boot partition My question really is what was so dreadful about this boot...

Partition Query
I shrank my OS partition by 20Gb to create a partition for XP (had to dual-boot for a while). I managed to sort out most of my XP stuff and can run it on W7 so I shrank the XP partition by 10Gb which i want re-incorperate into my W7 partition. Thing is I don't know how to re-incorporate those 10Gb...

W7 install - partition query (long)
Hi all, Last night I installed W7 64bit and all seems well. I want to ask a few questions. I installed W7 onto a clean/formatted 25GB partition, and it used about 13GB of the space. I then deleted Vista from the original system partition, and formatted that partition again, and now...
