"Can I tell you that I have installed :-
    The Lenovo tool box
    Advast
    ccleaner
    and Malwarebytes
    corel paint shop pro
    and Photoimopression

    Mcafee was already installed"

Is Advast a real-time anti-virus scanner? Is Malwarebytes just an on-demand scanner? Is McAfee a security suite? Having more than one actively defending your PC will invite conflict and result in weird PC behavior.

    gigagiggles,

Please start your own thread so that we don't confuse each other and especially not the thread starter.

    Thanks for your understanding.

    sandy,

download, install and run CCleaner. This will clean up some.

CCleaner is free and link is in my sig.

so that we can accurately advise you as to which and what programs do not need to run when you turn on the computer and which ones you should considedr uninstalling, pleae carry out the following:

LIST OF STARTUP AND INSTALLED PROGRAMS USING CCLEANER

CCleaner | Tools icon | Startup button | click on Save to text file button (bottom right side)

Using the PAPER CLIP icon in the top panel of a Message Reply window, attach the startup.txt file generated by CCleaner.

CCleaner | Tools icon | Uninstall button | click on Save to text file button (bottom right side)

Using the PAPER CLIP icon in the top panel of a Message Reply window, attach the install.txt file generated by CCleaner.
Hello I have Ccleaner, I will try and do as you ask :O)

I wasn't hijacking the thread. I was offering an observation on the OP's data.

Sandy, I gave you the steps earlier to achieve a Clean Boot so that all of those programs are not starting up with Win7, very possibly causing the problems.

None of those programs besides Avast needs to start with Windows. They are freeloaders on your RAM, CPU, Startup Time, can spy on you and cause problems such as you are experiencing. You can disable each safely through the CCleaner Startup interface.

After you run for awhile to check the difference without the startup freeloaders, you can opt to enable IAStor for closer HD monitoring and perhaps the two energy management listings which will tend your battery closer.

However clean reinstalls to Lenovos with none of those utilities included (just Win7) almost always give better performance than the factory preinstalls loaded down with bloatware and useless factory utilities that have better versions built into Win7. Reinstalling Windows 7

Well, I stopped them all except Avast - and - it did not blow up, so I must be getting somewhere
I will keep checking the logs to see if anything unwanted is showing up.
    Thank you again!
