I am having problems with my computer as I have been looking around i discovered their is no instance of svchost running at all.
I went to the svchost.exe and clicked to run it but its still not running. Also i tried to open tasklist\svc but no matter what i type in the run box
the tasklist only appears for a few seconds and terminates allowing me to see or do nothing. so please if u can help me i would be
so appreciative i realize i'm asking for help with 2 problems but i feel their related somehow. Thanks so much

Hi borgmdl, welcome to 7F :)

You might have a malware problem. Take a look here: No svchost running at all

You do not have to use a USB stick, but it makes it easier, if not just download to your desktop.
If you have any problems running this or any other on-line scanner try running in Safe Mode

You might have to use Safe mode with Networking, and rename the file.

    Welcome to SevenForums,

    SeviceHost is used by services.

Now let's go right to the heart of the matter.
    Code:
I am having problems with my computer
Tell us what the problems are.

    borgmidi,

Helping you is going to be much easier if we have info about your system.

Please read carefully and perform the following:
    Update your SevenForums System Specs
User CP (3rd item in the top menu bar) |
Your Profile | Edit System Spec
    (left-hand column)

    To gather info, use
SIW or Speccy or System Info

Add the word laptop or desktop or netbook to the
    “system manufacturer” block, for example,
    Toshiba Satellite L305D notebook.

Provide full windows version info, for example:
    MS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit

Use the “Other Info” block for Optical Reader,
Mouse, touchpad, wifi adapter, speakers, monitor, etc

Scroll down and click on the SAVE CHANGES button.
