bootmgr is missing

I tried doing that, hitting the space bar repeatedly, but it still goes straight to the bootmgr is missing page.

Can i jump on in on this thread with a question regarding boot manager?

I have 3 HDD's and the boot manager is on the wrong drive (secondary) how if possible can i move it to the Main drive (primary)
A question to iammeiamme did you move ,change drives or boot priority order? as i know this affects the possibility of booting giving the same error message!

Ripbox and theog I don't understand what you are telling me, but I've already tried running the disc and not that I know of to ripbox's question, though I wouldn't know if I did.

Try pressing the one-time boot menu F key, & boot the DVD drive.

If you are successfully booting the Repair CD and it finds no installation to repair, click through to Options List to select the Command Prompt and type:

Bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /fixboot
bootrec /rebuildbcd

If these don't start Win7, boot back into the Repair CD to see if an installation is now shown to Repair, accept any offered repair, then if Win7 doesn't start boot back in to Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times.

Next check which partiition is marked Active from Command line using Diskpart to "Detail partition": Partition - Mark as Active (Method Two)

It's easier to do this using a GUI (picture) of Disk Management by booting free Partition Wizard bootable CD. You want to mark Active the 100mb System Reserved partition as first choice, or if you don't have it the Win7 partition itself. On some factory OEM installs the Recovery or another partition may be marked Active. After confirming which partition is marked Active, click on the HD to highlight it, from PW CD Disk tab select Rebuild MBR which may preclude the need to run Startup Repair up to 3 separate times. If not, run the Repairs from Repair CD.

If the existing marked Active or 100mb System Reserved partition when marked Active will not start after Rebuild MBR and/or 3 Startup Repairs, change the Active flag to Win7 partition itself and repeat the Rebuild/Repairs.

You've now done all you can to start Win7, so if it still won't start copy out your files using the Repair CD: Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console

Then run full Factory Recovery from it's partition or Recovery DIsks which came with PC or you have made, or clean reinstall using a Win7 installation DVD with Product Key on COA sticker following these steps: Reinstalling Windows 7

Yes, I've seen and done that and booted the disc.
