    How to burn a big *.ISO file into 2 DVDs ?

    Hello everyone!

    I have a big *.ISO ( 5.1GB ) and now I want to burn it into 2 DVDs which I can setup by insert the DVD #1.

    How can I do that like a game DVD ?

    And 1 more question:
    If I split that *.ISO into 2 parts of using WinRAR then burn them on each DVD, then can I extract the DVD#1 in processing ? ( *mean: the computer may require DVD #2 to continue )

    Thank for read and reply!

    There are quite a few pitfalls of doing it that way. Does your hardware (DVD burner) support Dual layer dvd burning? If so thats the way to go.

    To install from two dvds the installer must be setup in that fashion. It won't work otherwise.

    Hello Lilcarp,

    Would burning (extracting) the ISO file to a USB key drive be an option for you?

    It would help if you could be more specific.

    Is this a Game?
    Software?
    Movie?

    DVD's and CD's are not completely dead yet, but Flash drives, and Large portable hard drives are making them more obsolete by the year (imo).

    You could maybe extract the ISO and then using WinRar, you might be be able to use the SFX option (sorry but it has been a long time since I have used that to be sure if this would work) to burn a self extracting executable (Maybe across multiple disks). There is an option to point the extracter to run the setup or whatever after extracting.

    The drawback is, with a file that large, it will be an excruciatingly long processing time to build and then later extract and install or whatever.

    There are not many options, that is just another thought/avenue that might make it possible.

    Thank all for support!

    @Tepid:
    My ISO is a set Ready2Go Collection x - the whole projects of Adobe After Effect. I just downloaded it on Internet and I don't know the kind of original disc. Maybe it's not a single layer disc or it probably is a double layer disc.

    BTW! I think my question is solved 99% now.

    P/s:
    Do you guys have this stuff? and can you show me what is the kind of original disc before I do the solution as like as zigzag3143 said. Thank!

    I would think whoever you purchased it from would give you burning instructions, but as mentioned above, if the disc is 5.1 GB in size, you'll need a DL disc. It's nearly impossible to find a burner these days that can't handle a DL disc, so I'd go that route.

    Finally I found a best solution for compressing then store it on a DVD only!
    Now I'll show my steps for anyone who want to store data like me.
    ==================
    Programs:

    -----------------
    Steps:
    1> Use Ultra ISO to compress *.iso into *.isz
    ( I chose method compression: Normal and get file with 3.5GB from 5.1GB. It's amazing! )

    2> Use Daemon Tool to mount and play that *.isz

    3> Burn data on Disc!
    ( if you want to store )

    That's it. I have compressed Ready2Go Collection v4 (5.1GB) into my data (3.6GB).

    I know this is an OLD thread, but WHY would you use Daemon Tools when you can obviously mount an ISZ with UltraISO also??

    another side note to future readers, IF you go to burn that compressed ISO (ISZ) you will STILL need (in this case) 5.1GB worth of DVD to burn. Still back to the DL everyone else has mentioned already.
