    Help please!

Hello All... Really hoping someone can help me! Last month I purchased a Samsung nf210 netbook which obviously come with windows 7 starter. As part of the package I got windows 7 home premium anytime upgrade. Anyway, came home, ran the netbook for the 1st time, followed the on screen instructions and when it was all set did the anytime upgrade! Well.... 1st it told me that the copy of windows was invalid so I re-entered the key again, still no joy, restarted the netbook and when it started it came up as windows home premium so I thought it was sorted. But I have had nothing but problems with it since then. Keeps saying its invalid copy of windows, problems with updates, I have activated the copy of windows by phone and that was all good. Could the problem be that I didn't install all the updates on the netbook before I did the upgrade as I keep reading now that you should make sure its all up to date before you do the upgrade, didn't know that at the time. Been to the shop to see if they can help but because I didn't take out there Whatever Happens cover it will cost me £90 just for them to look at it. I am hoping someone here can give me an idea of what would be best to do.
    Thanks, Pattie

Hellop pattiecake, welcome to Seven Forums!

Perhaps you could use a H Premium installation DVD to do a complete clean install using the correct H Premium activation key, have a look at this tutorial linked below and be sure to post back with any further questions you may have and to keep us informed.

Then have a look at this one for additional useful information.

Hi Bare Foot Kid and thanks for your reply. As I am quite new to this I was wondering if just using the Samsung system media recovery disc which says "Windows 7 starter for small pcs" would be the easiest and least complicated option for me. I am quite happy to be using the windows 7 starter just to get it back to working properly. Again all thoughts would be appreciated.... Pattie

Did you insert the Anytime Upgrade Key at Computer>Properties activation link? What does it say there now?

The shop wants your money even though you are already covered for a year by Samsung for parts and tech support, so I would call them to sort out anything MS activation phone agents cannot.

Hi, I have looked at this now. Sorry to be such a novice but if I do the complete restore this will take it back to how it was when I brought it home after purchasing it? I never did a back up at the start so it says "computer initial status" ....
