windows 7 access denied

    windows 7 access denied


    i had windows 7 BETA installed on Drive D,
    i installed windows 7 RC on Drive C because BETA was expirying,

    but in RC every file and folder gives me access denied, i tried taking ownership, i tried taking permissions but nothing helped

    the wierd thing is when i try to copy files after taking permission and ownership it says i need permission from Vishal-PC/visblu...thats the account i m working in.. its a admin account.. means i need permission from me? if its a bug please help me fix it if its not then please tell how to fix the problems its my all life data i need help PLEASE!!

    *EDIT: forgot to mention to mention before, i tried booting LINUX Ubuntu from Disc and it also had access denied =_=

    Now there is an Issue...I reccomend getting all the data you want off of Drive D and then formatting Drive D and Drive C completely...reinstall the RC afterwards

    Wait a sec...I just read that again...can you access the BETA and backup all your data from there?

    i had the same issue when i installed the rtm

    check the folder permissions and there will be and unknown user
    remove this and add your own and itll work

    yea i can access BETA and backup my data from there without any problem, but the problem is BETA wont boot after 1st August..stupid micro****

    Yeah you can pretty much assume beta will be gone in 7 days. I have not seen a way to prevent it. If you were dual botting into a different OS (linux, mac, dos) you data could be copied off no problem. Better hurry

    thanks for reply but there is no *unknown user* in security tab of folders giving access denied

    If you don't have access to the security certificates used to encrypt, those files are gone for good.
