Trouble Partitioning (C/ Shrinking Partion)

I created two volumes on the C drive to install UBUNTU (Linux), and I was able to assign a drive letter to the first partion, (U drive) and when I look at the new partition (20GB), it says Unallocated (normal), but cannot do anything else with it.

When I right click on the 22.46GB hard drive, my only options are:

New Simple Volume
and
Properties

The drives appear as follows:

U Drive, beside it, C Drive, beside it 22.46 GB Unallocated
while viewing in Computer Management/Disk Management.

I am not getting the normal open, explore, partition active, change drive letter, et-cetera that one normally gets when RIGHT CLICKING on a hard drive while in Disk Management.

Please help,

Thanks
