If you will be dual booting, you'll be wanting to share data between the two OSes. Which means the bulk of your data will need to be on an NTFS filesystem. The way I do it (and I've been doing this for many, many years) is to install Windows on the majority of the disk, and tuck Linux on a relatively small partition. For example, I have a 250 GB drive. I use 20 GB for Linux, 4 GB for a swap partition, and the rest is Windows 7. At times I've used a 4 partition scheme, with Windows and its programs in a smaller partition, and a separate NTFS data partion that both systems could access.

So as you're setting things up, just keep in mind that Linux can see your Windows partition, but Windows can't see your Linux partition.
