viewing a picture in "My Picture" folder.

I realize that it takes 8-10 seconds to open up a picture when i want to click on it to view it. I do not have such problem with Vista and Window XP. Is this a new problem??

Mine takes 2 seconds. Are you using disk cleanup and disk defrag regularly ?

Well stop it. There is no reason to do that often. Once a-month is more then enough. Your disk cleanup is killing off the thumbnail cache, which in turn makes loading images SLOWER.

What size and format are you referring to that take 8-10 seconds to open?
When I open a pic, it is opening before my finger leaves the mouse button after the 2nd click.

When you use Disk Cleanup make sure you uncheck Thumbnails first because they help to load your images quicker.

As logicearth points out, there's no need to run Disk Cleanup so often.
