Windows 7 Ultimate Root files issue
I have a database program that uses a file (full access rites) located in the root directory. The program will run fine for Admin, but not for any other user level. The program works fine with Win 7 Professional and Home Premium. In XP I could just give full rights to the user and all was well. But with 7 Ultimate, even with full rights, the program cannot access the file. However, I've found that Ultimate has a security app called Applocker. I have been reading up about Applocker and the exceptions that you can use with it to free up files on the Root directory, but since the file is a .net extension (not on the exception list of extensions), I can't add an exception to Applocker.
Has anyone dealt with this issue with Ultimate or know any workaround to allow full rites to files in the Root?
Thanks
