    My Documents on seperate HDD

Couldn't find this, but how do I set "My Documents" folder to a separate HDD? I have a very full 300 Gb HDD and am changing my documents and files to a 1 Tb on a new build with Win 7 Pro 64 Bit.

    Thanks,

    D.

    P.S.

    New build....

    64 Gb SSD for OS
1 Tb for docs and files.

Do you need to alter the configuration? Why not just create a folder on your data drive called Documents and put them in there? Then, if you want, you can edit/create a Document library that points to only that folder location on your data drive.

I've left my normal My Docs folder where it is, then have all my documents on a seperate drive. As and when, I copy over new additions from default location to my location.

I have moved my Documents, Music, etc folders to my data partition. One advantage to moving them, over just changing things in your library, is any thing you save gets saved to the new location instead of to the old one. I don't have to worry about moving stuff from one folder to the other, its already there.

That should be the case with just editing the library's included folders. For all my users I have their folders redirected to C:\Documents, and the default follows the library, which is pointing to just C:\Documents. If they open an Office program, for example, it defaults to that location.
