    Monitor viewport to small

    Hello,

I ran into a small problem (not sure if its windows related at all).

I have a new monitor and resolution set to 1920x1080 but when I set a window, any browser or windows window, I miss about 50px on each side.

Any idea how this could happen/how to solve this?

    Thanks in advance

I'm not sure what is going on based on your description, but are you using a digital or analog input?

    Hello Blixa,

You might check your DPI settings to make sure that you have the Smaller - 100% (default) option selected to see if that may be it.

    Hope this helps,

Thanks for the suggestion Brink unfortunately it didn't help.

I am using HDMI and to describe the problem a little better I made this image quickly.

Between the redline is what I can see and the blacklines are where the windows end.

    Thanks in advance

You may need to change your screen resolution.

The manual for your monitor should tell you what it should be, and to change it, navigate to Start>Control Panel>Appearance & Personalization>Display>Screen Resolution.

Are you able to disconnect the HDMI lead and use a DVI one to see if you get the same effect?

If you don't, it's possible your HDMI lead is suspect.

Following on from that, there's also the possibility your new monitor is faulty.

Do you still have the old monitor to try?
