Another thing worth mentioning, is that when your original laptop battery gets to the point where it won't hold a charge for very long...be prepared to not only buy the extended battery (if you can), but prepare to pay a sizable amount of money on the legitimate mfg's battery. Don't be fooled by all of the cheaply made Chinese knockoffs that you can get for 1/3 of the price that are floating around on eBay and Amazon. These often don't quite fit right, and they don't last long and they don't come with long warranties.

PParks,
You are spot on when buying a laptop battery...........You get what you pay for!'
1. Buy extended warranty and if not..

Anybody here who's laptop battery's lasted 10 years? I doubt. I've run through about 12 laptops in recent years and no matter what one does, life of the battery is usually around 5 years (by the end of which things are completely pooped). Somebody show me a battery calibration test with proper controls over an extended period of time, otherwise all this is just theory.
