I create a restore point but then it vanishes??

hi all, i create a restore point (capture)
then i atempt to remove the older one after i make sure everythings fine
but when i do the disc cleanup it leaves the previous restore point and me 2 Gig short?? (capture 2)
i've tried a number of times even after restarts but does the same
system protection is on,any ideas please??

When you use disk cleanup it asks if you want to remove all but the most recent restore point.

That looks like what it did, or are you asking something else?

Have you checked to see how much hard disk drive space is allocated to system restore?
