Windows 7: Safe mode issues

HI

Any reason why I am uable to boot int safe mode yet the normal boot is operating fine.

Trying to do a bios update and as unable to do under local admin account thought I would try safe mode only to find that when booting into safe mode the logon screen appears then the pc reboots.

Apart fom the safe mode the pc is connecting to domain etc and working fine

Any ideas as most threads etc don't cover normal pc operating ok and safe mode failing normally the other way around

In the start menu search box, type msconfig then hit enter. You will see my image, set to your choice on the boot tab. You will have to repeat this to boot in normal mode again.

Won't be able to do this as the pc reboots before you can logon to safe mode and therefore would end up in the pc continously looping.

Since it is a domain PC, it is possible that Safe Mode is barred or blocked. I'm just taking a guess on this, but it is something you could check with your IT group about.
