i agree about the replace dialogs. I always have to glance twice at them, to make sure I am hitting the right selection because of the 'dialog is the button' thing.

There should have been better copy handling:

    - Option to pause and resume copying/moving
    - List of files that have already been transferred, and those remaining, during the copy process (ability to cancel individual files from this list would be nice)
    - Restore copy/move in case of crash (in case of network copy)

Also I'm pretty unhappy with the gaming performance on Win 7 as compared to XP. Is there any workaround for this?

On that note having a GUI for robocopy would be awesome. Although not sure you would want that kind of power left to everyone who can click a mouse...

Surprised your having gameing performance issues... everything I have tried thus far runs much nicer in Win 7 then XP (and XP vista being about the same).

I don't know what's the matter then, because I do have my latest video card drivers.

Agreed, my graphics card is just an nVidia 8400M GS on a Dell XPS M1330. But I only play relatively older games.
Take for example C&C Tiberium Wars: I was able to play on Medium-High settings with XP, but on Win7 I have to settle with Medium..

My 8800 lost about 5-10% frame rate switching from XP to Vista, but the Vista drivers got better over time and by the time W7 came out they were as good or better than when on XP for the things I used it for. W7 was on par with Vista FR wise but then I got a new card that ran circles around the 8800 and I no longer have a reference.

There are cases where older drivers may "work" on Windows 7 but if they are not specifically programed for W7 (and Vista's) new driver model natively then their performance will suffer.

Nvidia IS actually pretty good about maintaining current OS support for older hardware though. But on individual cases, maybe some cards don't measure up as well as newer ones do on the transition?

Probably just stuck with that till you upgrade later...

That is the mobile chip. Where are you getting your drivers? My experience is dell does not keep up with the latest. You can check out www.laptopvideo2go.com to get the latest drivers.

I dont know why they make it so the drivers straight from Nvidia wont install on mobile chips... dumb IMO.

I got my drivers direct from nVidia! The site is, as fseal mentioned, very up-to-date. It gave me the driver for the exact card that I have.

guys I hated that it was not possible to have hidden labels on the superbar as well as NOT combined boxes. Now it is I use this app.

    7 Taskbar Tweaker

Also I hated msn messenger would not minimise to the system tray and instead docked on the superbar, the solution to that is to run it in vista compatability mode.

What I don't like about windows 7 is people who moan about how much of a bad os it is, when really it's the operator.

The fan boyz of Windows seven are the most annoying. The scanner and camera wizzard is not as robust in seven. Windows seven has some good qualities also but the longer I use it the less I like it and I have not felt that way with past OS`s.
