Yes, I totally agree. But I blame Windows for that.

huh why would you blame Windows for that??? The sound card company's should be responsible for drivers that work for their sound cards not the other way around. Also the user should be accountable for learning how to make things work on his computor.

i draw comics as a hobby and previously drew them on Windows Vista Paint, now I have Windows 7 I see how horrible the new Paint is.
In the end I just when out and bought Adobe Photoshop and learned to use it.

1-It is not open source-I actually had to pay for it
2-My HP photo printer-no driver, wont even work with the hp5550 drivers.
Is that the actual model number of the printer? HP wrote Win 7 Drivers for a lot of printers already in service. I have personaly installed 3 different models on Win 7 Computers. I had to go to HP.com and download the drivers. The Install disks were useless for drivers.
Not sure what I used for drivers as Win7 doesn't tell you what printer driver is installed, but my HP 5550 Deskjet works perfectly using one of the following....

    Built in drivers
Vista 64 bit ones from HP

The only thing that is lacking is the ink level monitor, but a 41-Tap printout will give a more accurate result anyway. A 41-Tap is......
    Hold Power button
While holding Power button, press the top button 4 times, then the middle button once.
    Release Power button.

Just kidding about the open source, its a joke. I actually love 7, used linux for yrs but defected back to windows,

And I was wrong, the hp 5550 works, but my 7350\7550 is not supported. Hp says to use 5550 drivers but still cant print.

You should have given Paint.Net a try before spending all that money for buying Photoshop.

I totally agree with Bowtie. It is not Microsoft's responsibility.
