Then you run into an "unsupported" laptop area. That basically means you are on your own to get drivers. In many case, the Vista ones work fine, but you can always track them down yourself. If the laptop uses an Intel chipset, then you know you can get them from Intel. Same with wireless...you can get them from the manufacturer. Like I said above, this is why it is important to know your specs offhand. I would think the network drivers for Vista would work fine under Windows 7, so that would get you online at least. You can also see what's listed for Vista to build your list of specs.

If it is shown Vista/Vista 64 bit, should I go w/ the 64? Since my OS is now going to be that?

Yes, if you plan to install Windows 7 x64, then the VIsta x64 drivers will be your best shot from HP's page. Keep the door open, in case something doesn't work, that you may have to find the drivers from each part's manufacturer website. If it gets to that, post back what you are having problems with, and we will help you find the driver.

I just wanted to say thanks to DeaconFrost, along with the others in this thread. Yesterday I finally put it all together, new hard drive installed, and Win 7 loaded. Luckly, when Win 7 was installed, everything seemed fine. Although, I did have to install multiple updates (at least 80) to get everything aligned and well.

Thanks again to everyone that was a part of this.

Yea, there's some minor glitches though. Some things on the screen tend to "flicker" maybe it's normal, maybe it isn't.
