    The whole Junction point, (Symbolic Link in Nix) system, is a workaround to allow software written for one OS to work with the folder structure changes in windows 7.
    If you look at them as an advanced shortcut you can see that operations that apply to real folders will not apply to the junction points.

    Seems like a pretty dangerous tool in the hands of people who don't understand the ramifications.

    I would not advise noobs to use this.
