If Windows Vista is running in out-of-grace reduced functionality mode, you cannot perform the following actions:
  • Play built-in games

The games that are included with Windows Vista are unavailable in reduced functionality mode.
  • Use premium features

Windows Vista premium features such as Aero Glass, ReadyBoost, and BitLocker are unavailable in reduced functionality mode.
  • Log on for more than one hour

In reduced functionality mode, you can only remain logged on to Windows Vista for one hour.
Most likely same for 7

WHat if you create an image of your C: drive once you have everything setup perfectly?

Could you just not load that image up after 120 days?

Although, maybe you could. After 120 days, restore your image and re-arm it. That would be the first re-arm for that image. Rinse and repeat.

It won't work since the date/time of installation is stored locally.

its June 1, 2010 and many people who willingly became self proclaimed "beta testers" aren't ready. Will MS take so much grief from careless people as to never release a beta/RC to the general public again? Certainly hope not. I think the release to the general public was an excellent decision....
