    New computer

Hello guys, yet again I'm posting for help on computers.

As some of you would know I have a rubbish laptop. But I'm looking to buy a new computer/desktop.

I have looked around and I can see there's plenty but I don't have a clue where to start. If any one could help me or give me some names on some good computers that would fit my need "or my entire family" I would be happy.

I'm really just helping out my mum and as I went to cost-co today she discussed about buying a new computer and was looking at ones up to £1'500. I'm sure that will make it easier for you.

    I'm not custom building a computer "I'm only 13."
A computer capable of easily handling games such as just cause 2 would be nice
A lot of memory, at least 750GB
    Windows 7, and i3 or i7 processor.
A computer that is easy to handle, looks good and will be generally fast. I want a computer that everyone can handle, if it lags for 10seconds when my dads on it, I will be looking at advice for how to replace screens.
Preferably built in hardrive, so a screen and nothing else if i've used the wrong word
A wireless mouse and keyboard. And as we listen to a lot of music, a one with fantastic sound quality.

Sorry for being picky, would be hopeful if anyone could help.

My mam is looking to keep this computer for 6+ years

Thanks again and see you soon...

Sorry if I'm wrong for posting this.

    Newegg.com - CyberpowerPC Gamer Xtreme 1094LQ Desktop PC Intel Core i7 960(3.20GHz) 12GB DDR3 1TB HDD Capacity NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Not bad I would shrink the harddrive for the operating system to maybe 3 partitions the op system to about 250gb and split the other 2 to equal parts..just to keep it somewhat fast.

Wow thanks for the reply, very fast, and a rep for you, As the computer i'm looking for is for the family and i'm the only one who plays games, perhaps an all-in 1 computer that looks good, like a sony. I can't seem to find an all in one good sony.

I take it you are in the UK?

I don't know if you can buy from Newegg in the UK.

You mentioned Costco. I would look at the Dell brand, which I think is sold at Costco.

Dell is among the best "pre-assembled" builders.

In the US, a fine Dell machine can be purchased for $1500, including a monitor and operating system. That is only around 1000 pounds in UK currency.

You might go back to Costco and write down some of the model numbers for any Dells they have. Or make notes on whatever information you can on them. For 1000 pounds, you can get a very powerful machine.

I really don't like the all in 1 pc's, they are essentially laptops, so can suffer from the usual overheating and are also not good for any types of upgrade.

I would always recommend a regular pc.

If you are in the UK then this is a nice all round system, comes with a monitor, all you would need to buy is a set of speakers for it, and perfectly good ones can be had for around the £50-£100 mark.

That is about as good as I found in the UK: http://www.pcpro.co.uk/reviews/desktops/368095/palicomp-phoenix-i5-z68-warrior

Add an SSD for the OS and you have a real beast.
