    desktop problems

I have installed Win 7 RTM and then I added some internet site shortcuts. The problem is the icon is covered with a white icon. The white icon is a familiar one that looks like a page with some small spots on it. Anyway, how can I remove the unwanted icon. Just re-read this. The system icons (folders, recycle, etc) are fine. Only the website shortcuts each have this white icon over the regular icon.

if that doesn't work, try a reboot, sometimes the icons do get messed up.

if THAT don't work, show us a picture of the icon...

I found the problem. It was a utility I downloaded a while back called "remove arrow". When I went into regedit and looked, the util was not working and had deleted one of my keys. When I put it back, all was good. At least the util worked on one of the beta's I tried, apparently no-go with the RTM.

Thanks for the help. However, I just tried a few of the regedit changes to remove shortcut arrows and nothing seems to work.
Anybody know of a good "remove arrows" method for Win7 RTM?

WinBubble and use a clear/blank icon for the arrow
