Disabled Mouse Pad.. I disabled my mouse pad by accident. I can't get it to work for the life of me now. There's a little red light on the top left corner of the touch pad. I tried resetting devices in synaptics, but still nothing. Please help. Thanks in advance

Hi Mike,
Is there a touchpad ON/OFF button on the laptop? Just above the keyboard buttons?
Regards,

Golden No there's not, but I just switched users and when I came back to my profile it was working
Not sure what happened. Thanks for the quick reply, though. Really appreciate it. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP G62 OS windows 7x64 Memory 4GB DDRM Screen Resolution 1366x768 Hard Drives 600GB, 250GB (portable) |

Thats OK. Switch back to the other, original user again, and see if the problem is still there. If so, then its user related and we can track it down.

It's working on all users. Now I'm REALLY confused. I wish I knew as much about PC's as you guys do. I know a lot about Android, just a little (read: a lot) slow with PC's haha | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP G62 OS windows 7x64 Memory 4GB DDRM Screen Resolution 1366x768 Hard Drives 600GB, 250GB (portable) |

Perhaps you changed it under Customisation, and it never held for some reason.
Nevermind, it works now, so its all good.

Thanks again for the help. Is there a "thanks" or a "rep" button anywhere I can click for you?
edit: found it | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP G62 OS windows 7x64 Memory 4GB DDRM Screen Resolution 1366x768 Hard Drives 600GB, 250GB (portable) |

its the scales top right of the post you want to rep, between the square and the triangle.
on most laptops there is a trackpad disable key ,on mine it is F8 on others its F6 etc,
there may be a little symbol on the key that has a square with a line through it ,
to resemble a trackpad .
to operate this key you have to hold down the Fn key then press the F8 (or whichever key it may be) whilst still holding down Fn. worth checking out as it will be easier for you to re-enable the pad in future. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Hewlett packard/p6512uk OS Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 7600 CPU IIx4 amd athelon 635 processor Motherboard FOXCONN 2AA9 Memory 2x2gb Graphics Card ati radeon HD 5450 Sound Card (1) Realtek High Definition Audio (2) AMD High Definition Monitor(s) Displays samsung lcd tv 32" Screen Resolution 1360x 768 Keyboard wireless hp Mouse wireless Hp,optical PSU ?
