Windows 7 - LOG-ON Choice

LOG-ON Choice

When I built this private/home system, I had it running without a Log-On password. At some point I had to run it as Administrator for some reason. From that point, when I boot up, I get a choice of logging on as either: My Name Admin (preferred) & Administrator.
I initially thought that it was a log-on password issue, but I now think that it’s just giving me a choice of which ‘user’ to open with.

I only want to run it as My Name Admin, to eliminate having it stall at boot-up page. (I turn the machine on then make a cup of tea. I want the machine to be booted, warmed up, downloaded updates etc & ready to roll). I think I need to delete the Admin choice from the log-on screen.
If this is so, how do I do it please ?

I don’t think I need to delete if from the machine, just from the boot up page.

I have looked in User Accounts. It seems – to my limited brain – that I can delete My Name Admin – but not Administrator, unless of course, I am reading things wrong.

Hello Tommy, and welcome to Seven Forums.

This would be the built-in "Administrator" account that you are seeing in addition to your account. If you would like to remove "Administrator" from the log on screen, then you could use the tutorial below to disable the built-in "Administrator" account while logged in your account to do so.

Built-in Administrator Account - Enable or Disable

Next, double check using the tutorial below to make sure that you have your user account selected, and to uncheck the Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer box to be able to log on to your user account automatically at startup.

Log On Automatically at Startup

Hope this helps,
Shawn
