Folder tags?

Long ago I asked on a Vista forum if there was a way to "tag" folders.

Another way to look at this would be similar to Gmail's labels. Whereas a file can only belong to one folder at a time, it can belong to multiple labels.

This would be very useful to me, and I was told it was supposed to be included in Vista but they ran out of time and would include it in 7 instead. Looking through the Beta though, I don't see it anywhere.

Hello The111, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You should also send this feedback to Microsoft as well. Hopefully they will decide to include it if they get enough requests for it.

Yeh, I guess I was hoping it's already there and I missed it... but probably not. Thanks for your input, I will follow your advice.

You know, that's kind of what you could use libraries for in a way. Just a thought

Hmm, I'm actually not familiar with that feature. Vista or 7 or both?

Photo Tags showing only in Library and not in the original folder
I was under the impression that an entry in the Photo library was a "pointer" to the original file in its folder. Why then does a tag added in the "Pictures library" not show in the file in its original folder. I thought that the advantage of tagging was that the tag went with the photo when...
