    Win 7 64bit memory question


    Hello, I have 4GB installed on my laptop and as you can see from the window capture it reads 3.74 GB usable.

    Shouldn't it recognize all 4GB? Or is the other .26 GB being used by the graphics card?

    More than likely that is what is it. I'm assuming it has the AMD HD 4250 for a GPU which if that is what it is, that one doesn't have any dedicated memory and uses system memory.

    Go to Start and type dxdiag in the Run field then press Enter.

    Click the Display tab to see how much RAM is being allocated for your video hardware.

    Almost but not quite seavixen32. The number shown in dxdiag is the total of video memory (dedicated or system shared), as well as what is allocated (but not necessarily used) as sort of a pagefile for the video card,
