Windows fax and scan won't send all pages.

I can't complete a fax in windows fax and scan it will send maybe 2 pages of a 4 page fax and then shut down with a fatal error message. I'm running windows 7/64 bit and using an older Agere V.92 ver. 8.36 internal modem that I removed from my 10 year old HP desktop computer and installed it into my new emachine ( Acer ) ET1352G-03W. The modem is updated with the current drivers as shown in device manager but I don't know if that is enough. If you think the modem is the problem what modem should I buy? I can connect just fine but it just won't complete sending all pages that I loaded..

The older modem would not be a problem if you have a proper driver for it. Given that your OS is 64-bit, older drivers would not work, you need a new, 64-bit driver from HP or directly from the modem manufacturer. I realize that this might be a problem.

If sending faxes is important to you, then any modern internal fax-modem would work. Just make sure there is a compatible (specifically for Windows 7 64-bit) driver. I don't think these would be expensive, but I do not know for sure (I have no modem in my computers anymore, except for one old laptop, which I keep specifically for the purpose of sending faxes, even if I really need to do it once a year or so).
