Windows 7: Laptop so slow

Hello,

I am using Ubuntu now because I can't use Windows 7 at all. I don't know what has happened. But yestrday I installed ESET 5 (I was using the 4th Version). I know don't if it has something to do with the new version, but when Windows 7 starts it hangs and stops..I can't do anything at all, if I click refresh all the icons on desktop disapear..

Please help me, I need Windows 7 to finish building my websites.

First, start laptop in safe mode with networking, update and run AV and any malware software you have. Then restart to check issue, if it still persists then start in safe mode again and uninstall said software that you think might be causing the issue then restart and check for problem. IF that doesn't work do a system restore to a(n) earlier date before problem started occurring.
