Libraries/Pictures/folder I want to open more w/out closing others

I click on "Libraries", then "Pictures" then a folder in the "Pictures" folder. What I want to do is then open a second (third, fourth) folder so that I can move images between them without the previous one closing.

I feel I am missing a simple step and look forward to your helping me correct this delimma.

You can right-click on a folder and go to 'Open in new window'.
