Lenovo ideacentre B320 on Windows 7 keeps going into sleep!!!

Just disabled all in startup and now waiting to see what is happening. Will keep you posted. Thank you so much for sticking with me so far and all others who tried to help. It is a great feeling to know that there are people out there who are willing to reach a helping hand to those who walk the path behind them. THANKS!!! will report later on to let you know how the computer is getting on.

YES!!!! It is working perfectly fine now. THANK YOU SO MUCH. 4 weeks of sticking with it and practicing patience's has payed off.

So to stop my screen going black every few seconds was stopped by disable all the programs showing in startup except for McAfee. Wow can't believe it. Again all of you: Thank you.

You don;t really need QuickTime, Facebook, iTunes, Google Toolbar, and such to be in start-up, you can always start them when you need them. With so many thing starting it really has a negative impact on your system's performance. I suppose much of that came from Lenovo as bloatware, they are good at that.

You're welcome. Do run PC Decrapifier, I think you can ditch 95% of those programs in startup.

I had the same problem as the original poster on this thread (screen going black after 60 seconds of inactivity). After reading 5 pages here of suggested attempts at solutions, I tried the sysconfig/startup to disable some programs that start when the computer starts. I was afraid to disable any of them, as I'm not that computer savvy. I then opened the Lenovo Dynamic Brightness System. I haven't figured out exactly how to use that system yet, but there was an option checked there for starting or restarting something after 60 seconds. I unchecked it, and my computer has been working fine since then. I think this was probably a Lenovo problem rather than a Windows 7 problem.

I also had the same problem and just found this simple solution.

Control panel>personalization>Click Screen Saver (bottom right icon).

To turn off a screen saver, in the Screen saver list, click (None), and then click OK.

(I had already done this and it didn't solve the problem, but the next part DID.)

You can set Windows to lock your computer after a period of inactivity even if you choose to turn off your screen saver. To do this, select the On resume, display logon screen check box, and then click OK. You can also determine how many minutes you want Windows to wait before displaying the logon screen.

THAT was the key. The default was just one minute. Change the wait time or just uncheck it.
