Windows 7 Libraries not showing up

Hi

The Libraries folder exists, but there is nothing in there. No Documents, no music--nothing. Right clicking and choosing "restore default libraries" has no effect--not even an error message.

Any ideas? I've seen this topic pop up in many different forums, and the recommended fix is always to right click and select "Restore Default Libraries." As mentioned, this has no effect on my machine.
Thanks for any help
Kent

hi
this may help you if you run a SFC system scan

please follow the steps in brinks tutorial How to Repair Windows 7 System Files with System File Checker >>> SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Quote:
Information
The sfc /scannow command (System File Checker) scans the integrity of all protected Windows 7 system files and replaces incorrect corrupted, changed, or damaged versions with the correct versions if possible.

also this issue can occur if the user profile is corrupted.

I would suggest you to create a new user account and check if it fixes the problem.
1. Open User Accounts by clicking theStart button, clickingControl Panel, clickingUser Accounts and Family Safety (or clickingUser Accounts,
if you are connected to a network domain) and then clicking User Accounts.
2. Click Manage another account.
3. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
4. Click Create a new account.
5. Type the name you want to give the user account, click an account type and then clickCreate Account.

also see here >>> Create a user account

If it works in a new user account then you need to fix the corrupt user profile. You may visit this link for the steps: >>>

Hey Brianzion

Sorry took so long to reply this. Was busy with something.

Finally did the SFC scan and guess what!! It did find some errors but unable to repair it "Windows resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix."

I have got a log file but what should i do next to fix these corrupted files. Let me know if you would like me to attach the log file.

Many thanks again

Note
If SFC could not fix something, then run the command again to see if it may be able to the next time. Sometimes it may take running the sfc /scannow command 3 or more times to completely fix everything that it's able to.
If not, then you can attempt to run a System Restore using a restore point dated before the bad file occured to fix it. You may need to repeat doing a System Restore until you find a older restore point that may work.
If still not, then you can use the steps in the TIP box in the OPTION THREE section below to manually replace the files that SFC could not fix.
