Windows 7: Cannot format, MBR, and more errors

If you plug you HDD back into your PC does the bios recognize the disk?
Then you could download and boot from the Partition Wizard bootable CD (from the 2nd PC) and see if it's options can make any sense of the HDD. The options are reasonably self explanatory. Delete to unallocate, create to format, surface scan. Just remember to use the APPLY button.

A worse case scenario would be a sudden failure on the HDD controller board.
I think you've gone beyond recovery options? It might be easier to just buy a new HDD and clean install.

With my HDD in both my laptop and my desktop, it is recognizable, just a paper weight. So what I did was downloaded that program (Thank you so much), and put my HDD back on my desktop using the SATA2USB cord, and completely cleared it off and am now doing the surface scan so my fingers are crossed that this can fix it. And if so, me love you and Dwarf long time.

It sounds as though the HD has died. If you cannot even install an OS, there is either a failure of the HD or something else in the PC. It might be worth while taking the PC to a competent tech for a look see, but this does not sound good.

As soon as you said that, it went from being 1:34 til done to 2:55 and has three error blocks. This is only going to get worse I fear. Anyways, I am going to go to classes and work and hopefully when I come home, it will be done. I will let everyone know what the status is when I return.

It said user cancelled with 80 errors, so off to buy another HDD, nothing wrong internally, plugged in my little brother's HDD out of his laptop and it ran just like it was new. It is just so odd to only have Windows 7, Firefox 6.0, and Office 2010 that it would burn out. Anyways, thank you all for trying! I will definitely be around a lot seeing as how all my parts for my desk top are coming in today from NewEgg.

Good decision.
Hopefully you keep regular backups and images so when your HDD fails (as they do) you can be up and running quickly.

Is it possible to get those images? I had it back up once a week but in the recovery options, they were no where to be found and even if they didn't show up, I know I did back it up after I had office installed. (Sorry if I didn't have correct spelling - on my crapberry)

What software did you use to backup (Windows?)
If so did you have create an image ticked?
If you backed up to an external HDD (as you should) what backup files/folders on on there?
