7 RC as main OS? Hey guys,
Do you think using the RC of 7 is a good idea to use as my main OS? I have a genuine Vista and I could reinstall it any time I liked if I had to, but I dont wanna use it as my main OS only to find out in a few weeks that its gone to crap and I have to reinstall Vista. It would be easy enough to do but its not something I wanna do as I wont be making any backups.
Im using Vista 32 and 7 64 at the minute but im quickly running out of space and I cant find anymore stuff to delete so what do you think?
Thanks. | My System Specs |

Windows RC Build 7100 is set to expire March 1st, 2010.
You've got a bit of time before that and by then you'll likely have purchased a copy of Windows 7 (retail). So I say stay with RC for now. I have been using Windows 7 since the first Beta was made public. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom | Whitebox OS Windows 7 Ultimate, OS X 10.7, Ubuntu 11.04 CPU Intel E6750 @ 3.80GHz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3L (Revision 1.1) Memory 2x2GB & 2x1GB (6GB) OCZ Reaper 1066MHz @ 1080MHz Graphics Card EVGA nVidia GTX 260 896mb (216 Core) FTW Edition Sound Card Realtek ALC888 Monitor(s) Displays 21" VIZIO TV Screen Resolution 1680x1050 @ 60Hz Keyboard Logitech Wireless S520 Mouse Logitech Wireless S520 - Microsoft Wireless Arc Mouse PSU Corsair 750W Case NZXT Nemesis Elite Cooling Thermaltake SpinQ Hard Drives Western Digital WD6401AALS - 640GB

I've been running Windows 7 RC1 for my primary OS for quite some time. I've got a legit copy coming in Oct...so I will be changing out then....but even though I technically have a legit copy of Vista for this machine, I've chosen not to use it. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self-Built in July 2009 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Q9550 2.83Ghz OC'd to 3.40Ghz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R rev. 1.1, F12 BIOS Memory 8GB G.Skill PI DDR2-800, 4-4-4-12 timings Graphics Card EVGA 1280MB Nvidia GeForce GTX570 Sound Card Realtek ALC899A 8 channel onboard audio Monitor(s) Displays 23" Acer x233H Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard ABS M1 Mechanical Mouse Logitech G9 Laser Mouse PSU Corsair 620HX modular Case Antec P182 Cooling stock Hard Drives Intel X25-M 80GB Gen 2 SSD

I've been running Windows 7 as my primary OS since January without any major issues (I do have a storage driver issue with my RAID card, but it's solved by not using sleep/hibernate).
I have access to licenses for all the OS's through my TechNet subscription, so it's just a matter of choice for me. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Home built (x64), Lenovo x61s Tablet, Samsung Netbook OS Win7 x64 + x86 CPU Intel i7 920, other Intel chips, and the Atom in the netbook Motherboard Asus P6T Deluxe Memory 12 gB; 4 gB Lenovo; 1 gB Samsung netbook Graphics Card ATI 4870 Sound Card Yes, I have one of these Monitor(s) Displays 32" Sharp Aquos TV Screen Resolution 800x600 - I have vision issues Keyboard Microsoft Natural Mouse Logitech Trackman PSU 1000 watt (can't recall the brand) Case Antec 300 Cooling Big honking cooler that was rated highly at Toms Hardware Hard Drives 4 - 150 gB Velociraptors in RAID 5

Alright then thanks for all your replies.
Can I overwrite Vista with Seven without having to get rid of all of my programs? Keeping in mind my Vista is 32-bit and im hoping to install 7 64-bit. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Celeron 2.00GHz Motherboard Samsung Electronics R60P Memory 3GB Graphics Card ATI Radeon Express 1250 Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays Generic PnP Mouse Synaptics Pointing Device |

Nope you can upgrade from vista 32 to win 7 32 but not to win 64. A clean install to win 7 is actually better even if it is a pain.
