You'll have to look inside the case at the actual hard drive. Figure out which company made it and I'll point you to a link and some instructions.

If it's been running this long I would.

Unzip the attached file and burn it to a CD. It's a .iso file so burn it as a disk image. When you're done, boot from the CD you just made and run the Data Lifeguard Diagnostic.

Instructions are here:WD Support / Downloads / SATA & SAS / WD Caviar Black

Your problems are due to a dying hard drive which will need to be replaced. If you can get it running at all, back up everything you care about immediately.

Run the Western Digital CD extended HD repair scan to see if it can fix bad sectors.

Next boot the Win7 DVD or Repair CD to run Disk Check from the Repair console Command Line: Disk Check. By now you should know for sure if your HD is failing. If so, copy out your files using DVD or Repair CD this way: Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console , then make your Recovery Disks if you haven't already as you will need them to reinstall the factory preinstall to a new HD unless you go with clean Reinstalling Windows 7

If not I would download and burn to CD or write to flash stick, boot to run a full scan with Microsoft Standalone System Sweeper

also run Startup Repair from booted DVD/Repair CD a few more times to see if Win7 will start. Even though Startup Repair should automate it, I'd also run System Restore from Repair tools list, and SFC -SCANNOW Run in Command Prompt at Boot
