    Please help windows is not working


    hi so i am new here and i have been tearing out my hair for the past 2 days..i restarted my PC and it says "windows failed to start. a recent hardware or software change might be the cause" then when i do start up repair it doesn't show my OS...i didn't have any new software or hardware and yesterday it showed my os and today it doesn't

    How old is the computer? Have you tested the hard drive?

    Do you have the win 7 dvd?

    Have you tried to boot into safe mode (F8)?

    Can we get your system specs?

    Do you have the win 7 dvd? no i do not

    Have you tried to boot into safe mode (F8)? yes but it goes rite back to the windows failed to start screen

    im not sure of the spec where can i find them?


    i just tried startup repair and it actually found my os i did a repair and it said that t has to restart to complete the startup fix so i clicked "finish" the computer restarted and went right back to windows failed to start screen..

    Have you changed anything on the HD? removed a partition, moved something, etc?

    no nothing at all just restarted my pc and then this happened. i just started startup repair again but this one seems to be attempting repairs for much longer than the first one. do i leave it like that?

    its been running startup repair for a while probably about an hour..is this normal?

    See what brand it is and download the test from the company that made it. You'll need to run it from a cdrom or dvd. :)

    its a dell..how do i run it from a dvd? also how long should i let this startup repair run? its been running for like 2 hrs
