    alg.exe

Hi, just a little concern: When I was using Windows XP I always had the alg.exe process running, now in Windows 7 x64 (SP1) it's not active. Is that a normal condition?

    Yes.

Some consideration needs to be taken in the differences between the two OS's, and how they handle applications to connect to the internet.

    See:
Application Layer Gateway Service - Process and Service wiki

Starting at the bottom XP, and its service packs had a setting of Manual (Started).
Then from XP Pro x64 to present it is only set to Manual.
You do not want to disable or stop the service.

If you are interested in other Services, and how they should be set see: Main Page - Process and Service wiki

If you scroll down a bit to

So, in short: alg.exe not running in Windows 7 is a normal behaviour. :) Thank you!
