Hibernate and sleep stopped working
Hello all. This is my first post here and I am sure this is not a unique issue yet I have not been able to find an answer.
I have a laptop that I keep pretty basic. I don't add programs very often, outside of windows update, and don't mess around with settings. I did remove IE from the system, but that's about it. I had been using sleep and hibernate without issue for months. Then out of the blue when I use either one I get the same result. The screen goes black, but the system does not seem to be powering down. When I go to wake it up I get nothing. The only thing I can do is a hard reboot. I have updated all drivers, bios and firmware. I did just start using a USB mouse, but I made sure to disable 'allow this device to wakeup system'. I don't know what else to do. For me hibernate is a necessary part of my computing life. Please help!!!!!!!!
