    How are New Posts Selected?

    Idle curiosity at work here.

How are "new posts" selected to be included in the "New Posts" thread?

    Anyone?

That is a highly kept secret that none but the administrators know, and they have sworn a blood oath to never divulge it .... and to keep it a secret too!!

    Hello Muad Dib,

Anything new that is posted that you have not read will show up in the New Posts search.

Just now I clicked NEW POSTS, and two of your posts were in Top5, this thread we are now and then this, both written couple of minutes ago. In other words, I found these two posts using NEW POSTS.

Are you maybe thinking why you do not see your own posts there? It would be useless feature, you know what you just posted.

Looks like your theory was thrown out the window.

Actually I had no idea. So I posted a new post asking how new posts are selected for the New Posts Thread and then monitored the New Posts thread to determine how it would take for a new post to be triggered...

And I DID NOT know it was individually tailored.... Very nice!
